Long queues greeted visitors as they arrived at the opening day of Cosmobeauté Indonesia 2016, which saw visitors coming in as early as 9AM to register even before the show started, as beauty professionals and trade buyers were eager to seek out their desired products.
The annual largest beauty trade exhibition in Indonesia – Cosmobeauté Indonesia 2017 is coming back soon in less than a month time! Let’s get ready to meet both international and local exhibitors to find out more their latest products and technologies.
The 11th edition of Cosmobeauté Indonesia officially launched yesterday, in the presence of Mrs. Esthy Reko Astuty, Deputy of Domestic Tourism Marketing of the Ministry of Tourism Indonesia, Mr. Mark Shashoua, CEO of ITE Group plc, Mr. CP Saw, Founder of Cosmobeauté exhibition series and Managing Director of ECMI ITE Asia Sdn Bhd, Mrs. Juanita Soerakoesoemah, Managing Director of PT Prakarsa Sinergi Utama and organizer of Cosmobeauté Indonesia, and representatives of embassies, trade associations, members of the media, and distinguished guests from around the world.

Mark Shashoua, the recently appointed CEO of ITE Group plc, also sees a huge potential in the Indonesian markets in general. “Indonesia has an enormous market, has huge potential. There are over 200 million people that live here, it’s a market that ITE has invested in, and we’re excited to be here, and lots of other exhibitions. Cosmobeauté has a very good future, there’s over 200 companies, the show is now 11 years old. It’s amazing!”
Efficient business matchmaking is one of our strong points, which we have delivered again once more through our One-to-One Business Meeting Programme, by bringing several groups of trade buyers from well-known department store chains and distributors such as Sogo Indonesia and PT Bintang Mahkota Jayaraya, who were here to source for quality products for the growing Indonesian consumer markets. Also invited buyers from around the world are here to meet local manufactured products and brands.
The stage was the main attraction of the day, as awards were given out to iconic players of the Indonesian beauty industry. Among them were lifetime achievement awards recipient Mrs. (H.C.) Martha Tillar, founder of the Martha Tillar beauty products series. Among the awards given out includes The Rising Star Hairdresser, Make-Up Artist, Specialist Doctor, Aesthetic & Anti-Aging Doctor, Nail Artist, and Beauty Spa Therapist.
The long awaited ASEAN Hair Styling & Make Up Competition 2016 took place the entire afternoon, as spectators and supporters cheered on their favourite artists working on their creative masterpieces. Several categories & prizes were offered this year, and contestants were judged by an international panel of judges based on their creativity, presentation, and artistic skills.
The judges’ panel this year was also formed by famous hair stylists & make up experts from all around ASEAN, headed by famous hair stylist Mr. Jacky Timurtius from Indonesia, Ms. Henni S. Noegraha, Chief Editor of Salon Pro Magazine, Ms. Marianti, Mr. Jeremy Leong, Chief Editor of H4ufme and Beauty Cosmedica, Ms. Agnes Lim, Creative Hair Director and Founder of Fancy House Hair Beauyt Nail Spa Group, and Mr. Andy Ho, Founder of Andy Ho Haute Coiffure.
The day ended when 16 winners were elected by the panel of judges, with 8 winners from each category. The winners were able to take home prizes sponsored by Panasonic Beauty and Masami Shouko.
