Business affiliation with Hong Kong, Macau & China Cosmetics, Perfumery Associations and PAMM for Halal Trade and Investments
Recently, the rise of halal cosmetic sector has attracted many Muslim customers in several other countries. Meanwhile, Malaysia is one of the Halal manufacturing dominant country in the world with estimated of USD $12 billion halal exports.
Since the uprising sales in halal cosmetic products captivated many customers, UMLand J-Biotech Park Sdn Bhd (UJP), The Cosmetic & Perfumery Association of Hong Kong Ltd (TCPAHK) and Persatuan Anggun Menawan Malaysia (PAMM) took this opportunity to stamp a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to fetch more potential investors from Hong Kong, Macau and China to Johor Halal Park, Pasir Gudang, Malaysia.
Federal Agency MIDA provided a 10-year tax incentives for Halal manufacturing investors to boost Malaysia and Johor Halal Park as a good investment location.
Joseph Ho, President of the Hong Kong Cosmetic & Perfumery Ltd: “Johor is located next to Singapore, which give opportunities to potential cosmetic investors from Hong Kong, Macau and China to merge their businesses, especially in the cosmetic industry”. The Cosmetic & Perfumery Association of Hong Kong Ltd was founded in 1980 and currently they have six association members including Hong Kong Image Designer and Asian Professional Image Association as well as up to 11 multinational corporations including Shiseido Hong Kong Limited, SaSa Cosmetic Co Ltd and Colgate-Palmolive (HK) Ltd.
Dora Mok, General Secretary of PAMM: “Apart from bringing potential investors from those countries, under PAMM, we have 300 successful business owners who are registered members. Most of them also have high business potential to operate their business in Johor Halal Park”. Persatuan Anggun Menawan Malaysia is a NGO began in late 2014 with the mission of uniting various small and medium enterprises involved in the beauty sector.
Asman Shah Abd Rahman, CEO of J-Biotech Holdings: “With the development of the scientific Halal laboratory of international standards, it will speed up the Halal testing process and allow for every product to apply for certification faster. With these facilities, the analysis process could be shortened from a timeframe of 2 years to 30 days.” UJP was represented by Mohd Noor Abd Salam, Chief Executive Officer and witnessed by Masrah Ahmad, which represents J-Biotech (100% Owned by Johor State Government).
Johor Halal Park (JHP), the first 100% Halal operating business in Malaysia is a joint venture between United Malayan Land Bhd (UMLand) and Johor State Government (via Johor Biotechnology & Biodiversity Corporation (J-Biotech)).
With the collaboration through MOU in place, both parties able to work closely on the cosmetic sector, business operations, local rules and regulations to meet the market needs and trends.
